Welcome to BSA Troop 40 in Rockville Centre, New York!
We're the home of the first Eagle Scout, and the site of
one of the oldest and most respected Scout Troops in the US! We have many things to look through here, from information about our troop and how to join, to the things we do and learn as we learn to serve our country, our town, and our neighbors, to the many activities we do in the outdoors and at home. Feel free to browse our site.

Hey! What do we like to do?
We like to make fires. Sometimes we use them for cooking, and sometimes just for fun. There's nothing like a big fire at night for keeping warm. And the marshmallows and s'mores are pretty good,
And we like camping cause it gets us away from chores, and parents, and baths. And we get to explore the outdoors and learn a lot about how to survive in the wilderness…and
how to take care of it, too. Yep, we learn about conservation, and how to take care of the natural beauty around us.
And how to find our way in the wilderness, too. Who needs GPS when you know how to navigate the woods?
Not us.
We know how to find water, how to get help, and what to do when we have to make it on our own, and how to give each other first aid, how to transport an injured person down a mountain, and find the best swimming holes.
And our troop's been doing things like this for 100 years. From the first day of scouting in the US. We were originally Troop 1, but a reorganization gave us a different number.
But we're still #1, with the first Eagle scout and the longest history of any troop in the country.
So stick around. Have some fun. Learn a few things. Get dirty. And see what scouting is all about.
